Supermoon Setting and Rising

I woke up out of the blue early this morning and walked to the windows of our house looking for the moon--and there it was, setting behind the hills beyond downtown Reno.  It was 5:36 a.m. and so I wasn't really prepared to photograph anything.  I barely had time to grab my camera and fired of a couple of handheld shots with a zoom lens through the window before the supermoon disappeared over the horizon.  Perhaps I will catch the moon rising again this evening.

Supermoon setting below the horizon.  Going...
going...
...almost gone.

== Update ==

I did see the moon on Sunday evening but since everything was pitch black besides the moon, it was too hard for me to take photos of the dimly lit scene without setting up a tripod. Instead, I have these photos of the previous supermoon taken May 24, 2013 to share. Driving home I saw the moon rising as I exited the off ramp towards home so I pulled over on the overpass and took these shots, handheld, with a zoom lens.
