Taste of Midtown Eats

After our bike ride on Saturday, we drove towards downtown Reno looking for lunch. We decided to try a new place called Midtown Eats on South Virginia and Cheney Street (in the old Süp location).  Although the restaurant's rustic but hip interior was very inviting, since it was a nice day we sat outside on the patio instead.

Off the libations menu, I picked one of their many interesting cocktails called the Green Day over rocks (gin, green chartreuse, galiano, grapefruit bitters, lime, sage, ginger beer).  It was delicious and strong; perfect for us to share.  Next time I will sample the Cucumber Smash (hendricks gin, st germain, fresh lime, muddled basil, cucumber) which was recommended by our waiter.
For lunch we each ordered the tri-tip and snapper tacos -- both were delicious.  The tacos are nestled on two small white corn flour tortillas but you can request just one tortilla per taco if you prefer.  The sweet potato fries are probably the best I've ever had and the original mac and cheese is deliciously rich. There was plenty of food for the both of us and we left wanting to go back there again soon!
