Back to Bishop

Seventeen years since John left Bishop, CA where he grew up and also lived for a short time in nearby Mammoth Lakes he returns to his old stomping grounds. This time for a vacation and with wife in tow.

Since I have never visited neither of these towns we will be sight-seeing, food tasting, bike riding, and definitely lots of resting time at the family cabin.  From up here and nearly 8,000 feet elevation, the view and weather is a beautiful 77 degrees.

Right off the bat things are off to a good start.  Not only was the drive scenic and pain free but we made it to our destination in good time and met up with uncle Tom and aunt Sue who have been vacationing in Mammoth since last Monday. They took us out to lunch at the Good Life Cafe so we could catch up on our lives. Sadly, today was the last of their stay in Mammoth and so our family time was bittersweet.

After we parted ways, John and I unpacked.  He hopped on his bike while I lounged back at the cabin, not ready to attack the hills just yet. :-P  There will be plenty of time for that.

Follow us through our web album where new photos will be added throughout our trip.  Take care for now.

Vacation away from Vegas? Nice that he can get home periodically.
