Just wondering how you handle those times where you have someone piping about "problems" and meanwhile, are oblivious to the notion that perhaps they might be part of the problem. Then, instead of being part of the solution, they harp on you to "do something". I feel like saying, I am but what are you doing (to help resolve the issue)?! or I'm trying to do but I can't do it without your cooperation. How can I fix a problem I have no control over? Argh...frustrating.

Then I give in and tell myself, I'm doing what I can and will be better off -- at least in a better position than they. Accurate or not, it's the only sense of satisfaction I can find right now.

I hope after their problem doesn't get fixed, whether they harp at me or someone else, they might look at themselves and think, maybe the problem is me and then, how redirect my venting energy to help...but that's probably hoping too much, LOL.

While I don’t know the specifics of what sparked your observation, I can say I definitely feel your pain. I have found that the easiest thing to do is to get people to agree that there is a problem, and agree that change is needed…..but at times nearly impossible for them to realize that may also include them. It’s easy for people to be a critic, but hard for them to create.

Hmmmmm, in fact, this comes to mind….. “Let he (or she) who is without sin cast the first stone.” And I’m also reminded of the classic, “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.” Those that protest the most that they are without fault, I’ve found, usually have some latent guilt they are trying to defend and/or keep hidden.

Anyway, I suppose I just felt compelled to comment to say, hang in there. Keep focused on the solution, remove emotion whenever you can…..and hopefully the obvious will become clear to those currently incapable of seeing the part they play in it all.

After all, there’s only two “perfect” people that I ever heard of that have walked this earth….and fortunately I just happened to run a bit faster than the other one they caught and eventually strung up on a cross. LOL
