Not about Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny shared the spotlight this year with one big celebration of three birthdays--mine, Jan and Grandma's. I had one of the best birthday parties. How can I not when I'm surrounded by family (three are fabulous cooks) and friends, Chuck and Dotte, and Shannon whom we haven't seen in months and months!?!?

(Don't know if I'll get around to video taping our cats' reaction to a hilarious birthday card I received from C&D with a recording of a bunch of cats singing happy birthday. Cracks me up every time I open the card!)

Harleying through Henderson

One of my favorite memories of riding a motorcycle was going to my commencement on a Road Glide. The best part was jetting off and leaving behind the trail of cars exiting campus after the ceremony.

I can't quite describe the rush between going fast in a car (or convertible) or flying 112 m.p.h. across a glassy lake and riding a cruiser through the warm evening air (wearing no helmet in Lake Havasu) to dinner. It's as free as I can feel with nothing holding me down but my arms around my husband's waste.

Lately, I craved going faster than 15 m.p.h. on my electric scooter and covering more ground than a campus. I asked my husband to surprise me and bring home one of the company cars he can choose from. Soon I heard a rumble in the driveway of a Harley-Davidson Road Glide with a built-in stereo.

We rode part of a route he'd take when he rides his bicycle towards Boulder City. Experiencing that with him made my day!

Scooting Along

I can't tell you how much I love my scooter. I use it almost every day. Not only does it move me swiftly across campus, especially when I'm wearing heels, but it's also handy for carrying my heavy computer bag, gym bag, and lunch bag.

I indulged in the opportunity to ride on a smooth surface seeing that classes were not in session...

...then rode towards one of the stations from where I work...

...and the next day, back to where I 've spent most of my time for the last year sitting in interactive design sessions.

This scooter is sure a lot of fun. If you are looking for one like mine, an E-Zip 500, or other styles, TheScooterFamily has a slew of selections. Right now they are offering free shipping (and my scooter is not light...I think it's 40 or 60 pounds). If you email Chris ( and let him know you were referred from my blog, he may give you a 20% discount.

During this summer when temperatures are close to 110 degrees, it sure great for going quickly from building to building and avoid prolonged exposure to the heat. It's also helpful in drying the sweat off my body after a workout at the gym!

Cat Talk

My husband and I must have one of the most talkative cats we've ever known (our calico, Havi). One of these days I'm going to share a video of her...maybe a montage of her meows. Then I might be able to understand her cat talk with this book my mom-in-law gave me a while back, LOL. It's a really cute book.

Brunch with the Bunch

I love breakfast though I have to admit I'm not one to break the fast during the weekday. Maybe it's a meal I enjoy when I can share it with friends or family. Then the food always tastes good and those are the warm, fuzzy feelings impressed in my memories.

This morning is brunch with my husband and Mom and Pop-in-law at the Bayside Buffet overlooking the Mandalay Bay Beach pool and tropical water garden. Lovely place for a Sunday morning brunch even without the buffet.

Kabuki and Town Square

My friend Dolly and I met up at Town Square to have lunch at Kabuki Japanese Restaurant and then spent the afternoon shopping. Our friend Kristen had planned to join us but she needed to leave town for a family emergency.
I love days like this when I can get together with friends. We have no agenda except to eat and and take our time.
