Dinner at the Schaafs

Saturday we found ourselves in the company of friends, old and new. Jason and Cinzia hosted dinner at their house in the gorgeous community of Anthem Country Club. My husband and I are the only ones who are from a different neighborhood and we had joked that the neighbors will probably call the police when they see a tatted guy with an Asian prostitute walk up to one of the houses...LOL.

Josh and Steve are neighbors to our hostesses and we've known them for some time. I've met Theresa before at a Sex and City girls night out but this was the first time meeting her husband. There was also a new addition to the family, Prince.

It didn't take long for everyone to get acquainted as we sat down for dinner. Cinzia's natural culinary skills probably come from her families line in the restaurant business. She prepared bleu cheese, red onion and bacon salad, beef tenderloin, burnt small onions and a side of squash. There were second helpings and a look at everyone's plates around the table confirmed that there were no scraps to be found.
Since the night was warm, we spilled onto the patio for after dinner drinks and coffee. I drank everything from gin and tonic and wine to champagne and a creamy, egg-nog like drink that had sparkling wine (I think...I remembered correctly).

Boy did I pay the next day when my head throbbed like a million pistons were my in my brain...LOL. But then I remembered how much fun we had that evening and smiled my headache away (temporarily). Yeah, I'd do it all over again in a heartbeat.
