Stair Stepper Addiction

Something I always find challenging and enjoy doing is the stair stepper. I have a love/hate relationship with this particular one on the second floor which overlooks the pool and Vegas Strip beyond the class walls of the gym. I hate that machine when I'm mentally tired but I love it because I leave energized after I have a sweaty work out.

Every time I put my feet on the steps, I feel like it's a showdown. I don't know if it is the challenger or I am, challenging myself. Stepping on that machine can be monotonous so I change the pace every minute. Today I wore my heart rate monitor so I can get into the range of my highest zone, slowing the pace when I've peaked and increasing the pace to keep my heart in that range (165-175 bpm).

25 minutes into it and I didn't want to stop. I was feeling so good and sweating like condensation off of a bottle of ice water sweltering in the Vegas summer heat. I love dripping in sweat (but it sucks when it comes time to get out of sweaty clothes because it sticks to ya.)

Alas, I needed to cool down, change and head back to work. I love the convenience of having a gym where I work and a challenge to set new goals with every time I'm at the gym. Stair stepper...see you again tomorrow!
