I'm Not the Only One

It's good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't want to swim. I've been taking private swimming lessons almost every week. The instructor is excellent and very patient with me. I thought I would never say this but I'm actually making progress. Perhaps if I approach the lessons with a more positive attitude instead of dreading them, I'll make great strides.

But there's something about swimming that I don't like--maybe because when I'm in the water, I feel like it wants to swallow and eat me whole! Though you'd never guess how much I long to swim effortlessly like I've seen others do every day in the pool at the gym or at the lake. I tell myself they all had to learn to swim at some point, right? They weren't born swimming like a fish, were they?

when I was little and learning to swim, i was terrified, the deep end with the diving board really did me in..... I really can't recall when i "got" it and got better and more comfortable with swimming. Don't worry, it'll come....
