Hand Delivered

Mondays, I admit, have to be my worst day of the week; especially after many awesome Sundays on the lake. My sister lovingly calls me Garfield because I hate Mondays.

But this Monday was different. I received confirmation of my promotion today, in the form of a hand-written card and logo pen, delivered in person by the Registrar himself to share with me the good news. I can't tell you how much it means to me that the big-wig took time out of his busy schedule to purchase a pen, select a special card and write a thoughtful note to give to me in person. That's character. I am so happy and excited to start another chapter in my career.
My husband and I needed to visit the mall to purchase a bridal shower gift and run several other errands. It was nearly 8 p.m. by the time we were done so we swung by the Chevy's Tex-Mex restaurant conveniently located therein for dinner.
A couple grande original lime margaritas to toast the good news.
I was fascinated by the tortilla machine which pressed and pushed the dough onto several rotating heated plates, flipping the tortillas from one plate to the next. They puffed before exiting on a conveyor belt onto a tray, still piping hot!
The lime cilantro chicken salad I had was just perfect!
My husband had a combination of items which were equally tasty.

You know what? I think Mondays may not be bad after all!
