Into the Dark

Last night my husband and I did something we've never done together before; we ventured out on a weeknight to hear and watch one of our favorite DJ/Producers, Ferry Corsten, live.

Inside Body English nightclub at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Scotty Boy was the opening DJ (he's a pretty big local DJ).

By the number of people at the venue, you would think it was a weekend night rather than a Wednesday evening.

We had arrived to the nightclub just after 11 p.m. and were treated to a couple dirty martinis at the bar by one of the V.I.P. hosts; just what we needed to loosen up. (Need I remind you that we're old farts and it's a feat John and I are out this late on a weeknight? LOL!!)
As much as we enjoyed hearing the opening DJ perform, we went into the dark for one person and that was to see Ferry Corsten.

Soon enough, he entered the stage; his big smile filled the room and open arms commanded attention from the restless crowd.

Once the Netherlands native did what he is world-renowned for, the crowd went off. As one of Ferry's album, L.E.F., puts it, the crowd moved to the loud, electronic, ferocious grooves on the dance floor, at the bars and tables.

The energy from his music flowed through our bodies as my husband and I danced at the corner of the stage from where he stood.

We had so much fun dancing all night. I had a big grin on my face the entire time not knowing the price I would later pay for dancing in strappy heels with no support.

If you were to ask us how the event was, we couldn't agree more with Ferry--two thumbs up baby!

We had plenty to drink, the music sets were amazing to hear, even the Go-Go dancers were entertaining (several of them rotated throughout the night).

Time flies when you're having fun and before we knew it, it was past 3 a.m. As much as we wanted to stay longer, we both had to work the next day (I also had a 7:30 a.m. dentist appointment).

When I look back at this photo, my sore feet, aching knees, our slight hangovers, and groggy day on less than 3½ hours of sleep--was ALL worth seeing Ferry (and I'd do it again in a heartbeat)!

(Before he went on stage, we were able to meet him and had our L.E.F. album cover autographed. I am sure he's about my height or shorter but appears to have a big heart to match that big smile.)
