The Lion in March

I took a fifty minute walk around the neighborhood this morning. I wish I had taken my phone or a camera with me so I can show you how beautiful the day was. The weather was clear and sunny with degrees in the high 70s. There was a slight breeze in the air. All around me there were signs that spring was here early. Little green buds formed on trees and beautiful cherry blossoms floated around. I saw prairie dogs and a lizards scurried to get out of my walking path.

When I got home, it was the perfect opportunity to open the windows and doors of our home while I worked in the yard, pulling weeds and sweeping up dead leaves from winter. It seems the great weather was here to stay until summer.

Before I could post about my morning, the winds picked up reaching 30 miles per hour. The whistling of the wind and rustling of the trees always scares my two cats. Funny how it seems so true, the saying that March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb...

Now all the wind is going to blow trash, debris, and more dead leaves into our yard after all I did this morning. Well, at least I had the chance to enjoy the day before the lion came.

I'm looking forward to spring. We are getting nasty weather here.

At least you have snow. How I would love to see snow! I would rather have snow right now than wind.
