This is gonna hurt

It's rare that I have sleepless nights. I usually sleep like a rock while my husband gets up to use the jon (no pun intended heh, heh) multiple times throughout the night. By the way, that is an interesting word according to the Urban Dictionary (UD). The word, jon, has more meanings that I thought which was the British slang for "toilet" but according to the UD, it can also mean anything at all in Philadelphia country. So the next time I'm at a loss for words, I'll use the word, jon. I'm feeling jon today ... and that food was just jon!

After tossing around in bed restlessly, I knew I'd never get back to sleep if I tried to force myself into a slumber so I got up to get cozy in the lounge with my laptop. No sense in keeping my husband awake with my tossing and turning; he has no problems doing that on his own--especially with the aid of a nocturnal cat. I tiptoed my way into the kitchen and grabbed myself a midnight late night early morning snack of sugar snap peas. Ew ... I know, I am a strange girl but it is good (kinda). No, I'm not a health freak. There's just simply no junk food in the house but I could probably run down to the convenience store wearing only my birthday suit and no one would notice.

It's 4:24 a.m. and the cats were hovering around me like, WTF? Why are YOU awake? but they're liking my unusual company. (And now they just bothered John with their wrestling games inside the bedroom so I can hear him shut them out of the bedroom which marks the end of the slumber party for the girls. Last call is over my fine furry friends. )

Man, how time flies in the middle of the night! Why doesn't it ever do that during the work day? Maybe I'm awake because I'm excited it's Friday and the weekend is finally here? I seriously doubt it. (It's 4:47 a.m. and I know I'm going to pay for staying up later today. Don't you hate it when this happens? It's too early to get up for the day and I just know I'm going to get groggy around 5:30 a.m. only to sleep for another hour or so and get up ... again and be even groggier OR stay up and just suffer through the day which is probably what I'll end up doing.) There's not a lot of things that I'll lose sleep over and, as much as I love Fridays, that's just not one of the significant events that'll keep me awake at night. You know, like when I was kid on the night before the first day of school starts?

So I'm on my laptop blogging to you and my brower's homepage is set to iGoogle. If you don't use it, it is pretty neat. I have a calendar, Gmail preview, Google Reader (Atom and RSS feed), daily horoscopes, stock ticker, Bookmarks (my favorite) so no matter what computer I'm on, I can log into iGoogle and have my bookmarks handy, and so forth. There are other gadgets and tabs that I can add like Picasa Web Album and other photo galleries, daily recipes, etc. You can catch a glimpse by clicking on the image below to make it larger.

One of the neatest things (I know, I can be a geek) is the header of my iGoogle. I can pick different themes like Beach, Bus Stop, City Scape, and other scenes but I picked the Tea House which is set to my time zone. There is a fox character up there and throughout the day and his activities are in real time. For example, in the morning he has breakfast, then rows across the lake to his orange orchard, and fishes in the afternoon, has lunch, and plays his guitar to the fireflies at night.

Well at the wee hours of this morning, I saw a scenery that I had never seen before. These ... creatures (ghosts of rabbits perhaps?) are floating across the lake to bring him oranges (that I assumed they picked) while he sleeps. Why doesn't anybody bring me oranges in my sleep? WTH?

Now, can someone PLEASE name who the designer-on-crack is so I can thank them for entertaining me until 5:17 a.m. in the morning?! (By the way, a giant caterpillar is watching over the little fox guy now.)

I guess I better go back to bed. Happy Friday, Happy Birthday Teresa, Happy Anniversary Dolly, Happy (early) Birthday Kristen, and have a great weekend!
