Kitchen: Painting of Cabinets

After a day out on the lake, it was time to continue working on the next step of our kitchen project: painting the cabinets.

We removed the cabinet doors from their hinges and drawer fronts (labeling them so we do not confuse their placement) and prepped them for painting.

Elgy assisted by pushing the drawers out for me.

As for the paint color, we decided to go with semi-gloss black oil-based paint. Once the wood has been painted, we will mount the new stainless steel hardware and our kitchen will look like a different place. All that will be left to do is paint the white walls of the kitchen.

So far so good. We're really liking the look of the black paint.

The grain of the wood is coming through the paint which gives it a nice texture.
