Song of the moment!

American Idol This is a song I'm absolutely crazy about!!
Kelly Clarkson's "Behind These Hazel Eyes"
<==============Click the American Idol judges to download and listen. WARNING: It's a big, MP3 file (approx. 7MB) so it will take about a minute to download before playing if you have a fast connection.
Here are the lyrics.

NOooOO!! Not now...

It's Saturday. I am miserable. Bloodshot

Mainly because I'm so tired from all the late nights this week. On top of my usual work, evening classes, required meetings for CSUN and campus involvement activities, and homework--I've been picking up the extra responsibilities of a group project gone solo.Oh JeezI don't want want to go into it. All I know is I'm WORKED physically, mentally, emotionally and if I was a tad religious I'd also be worked spiritually. Messy SneezeMy allergies have screwed up my sinus and now I feel achy, tired, crampy, light-headed, broken down and void from all work, no food but surviving off of Claritin. I think I'm starting to get sick Sickly although it's the last thing I need.

The hardest part of the semester is about to begin as I start studying for finals in math, marketing, environmental science and finish up a powerpoint presentation project for my business writing class which was screwed up by the group assignment which cost me time in completing my other projects Perturbed. BUT I am going to get off my Soapbox box before I pull all my hair out !! I've done so well up to now to avoid having to feel like I did last semester Pulling My Hair Outand I'm not going to stop now.WhipIt's time to get back to work . WARNING: Those who are within a throw's distance should know that I'm tired, not feeling well, stressed AND it's that time of the month should keep their distance to avoid crossing the line of fire.

La de dah

Blah, blah, blah....blah...blah. Pooh-bud...

Paper WorkSorry about the incoherent babbling. Is it 5 p.m. yet??!! I'm at work and for some reason it's extremely busy today! Mainly interruptions from my various priorities because I am alone in the front office fielding calls, assisting students with questions, petitions, make-up exams, homework submissions, independent study submissions, key requests, and locating, registering, cancelling, and submitting for experiments.

Smash CopierAssisting professors with copy requests, mail requests, copier malfunctions, key requests, enrollment figures, roster requests, final exam requests, and mail delivery. All this while trying to request and submit book orders before the deadline to ensure that books are available to students for purchase prior to the start of the semester. [Deep breath] I finally accomplished some tasks of substance during the quiet hour and a half after 5.

Hmmm...must be my punishment for some bad karma. Not complaining...just wired. Must...get...some...berry berry berry good Coldstone's ice cream!!!!
Weekend 3

Shoot, I know I had a reason for starting blog. Hmmm...let me get back to this. Anyway, guess what day it is..........?? Yep! ======================>>>>>

This joke was forwarded by my friend, Linda, from Spokane, WA (who just recently landed a new job--by the way. CONGRATULATIONS, Linda. It sounds like a great opportunity and I'm happy for you!)

Here's the joke:
It was a small town and the patrolman was making his evening rounds. As he was checking a used car lot, he came upon two little old ladies sitting in a used car. He stopped and asked them why they were sitting there in the car. Were they trying to steal it? "Heavens no, we bought it." "Then why don't you drive it away?" "We can't drive." "Then why did you buy it?" "We were told that if we bought a car here we'd get screwed ... so we're just waiting." Posted by Hello

Okay...I think she's already developing her own sense of fashion style. Sort of hip-hop mitten cock-eyed hat with white bib garb. Yo! Yo! Posted by Hello

Saelia with her dad. Hmmm...I think I see an uncanny resemblance. What do you think? Posted by Hello

How long can you hold it?

You've got to play this ridiculous game but make sure to warm up your mouse clicker finger!

Click on the chicken to begin.

My score was 00:00:00:59:89. Darn!! Will try harder next time.

The secret to better vision!

Don't listen to what they say about computer monitors hurting your eyes because I know I don't sit in front of a monitor more than 12 hours a day.

I've tried and tried staring at this image and as hard as I could strain my eyes...I couldn't figure out what the subject of the photo was. All I can see is the white area. Can you tell what it is?

What is this...thing??!!

I have to admit, I wasn't ready to be an you can say I was an unexpectant aunt. Thoughts flew around my head when I first heard the news last June. I was making the solo drive to Las Vegas from Burbank. It was hot and dry on a bright sunny day. Very little traffic around as I was on the phone with my sister in Spokane..."yes...blah-blah, blah-blah sister is pregnant"...[echo] [echo] [echo]...I thought I had entered the twilight zone.

I was in a daze for several days. I'm going to be an aunt...I'm going to be an aunt. Sort of like Dorothy chanting "There's no place like home. There's no place like home." (I think I took the news the hardest ;)

Then on the most perfect day in Buffalo, NY, in a house atop a hill of lush green, grass surrounded by fields of corn and cows grazing by...low and behold I held my nephew for the first time. That experience was sort of like...holding a...a living thing. A being. A little, moving, breathing, cuddly human being--and that feeling was neat. I have to admit, it was love at first sight. And you thought it was pollen or animal dander you were allergic to. Well, if you live in Mexico City, be careful because...
"studies have shown that a significant portion of the airborne dust in Mexico City is actually dried, pulverized human feces"

Regardless, if you're an allergy sufferer like me, I've found that Claritin-D works really great because it takes care of allergy symptons and congestion! After trying everything but the kitchen kitchen sink, including hanging upside down and going crazy, this was the magic pill. Hey now...I'm not advocating any drugs here so please use with caution (and move away from Mexico City if you live in it.)

I'm really suppose to be that good little boy. But I'm not. Instead I'm dinking around the internet...

Finals will be upon me soon. Just two weeks left before finals week. I'm only worried about math. And marketing. And my environmental science class. And my final report for business writing. I guess that makes everything.

CSUN will still be meeting every other Monday night. Not sure how I'll do that since I'll be taking evening classes throughout the summer. We'll see.

Okay. Now I'm really going to crack my textbook and study for my science quiz.

Aaahhh...a Rugrat!

One of my favorite photos of my nephew, Caleb. He lives in Seattle with his parents and will be 1 years old in a few months. I can't wait to see him!! Posted by Hello

Winnie, my little baby...asleep in my lap, exhausted after the long move from Burbank to Las Vegas last year. She just was recently made a permanent virgin. Posted by Hello

Stranger From the Past

I got this funny e-mail, out of the blue, from someone I met once, at a gas station, several years ago, in Burbank, CA.

"I know this is kind of a funny e-mail, but believe it or not... I bought a new wallet, and was changing my info and found a piece of paper with your name and e-mail address written on it (Daly [edited])... and was very curious to who you are and why it is in my wallet! :) Do you have any idea??????????????? lol.. :) Let me know!"

I haven't decided if I'm going to respond. If I found a phone number for someone I don't remember anymore, I sure wouldn't call them to ask who they are and why I have their number. Okay...

Congratulations to me!

Today, I am a proud auntie to a new niece, Saelia. My sister and her husband gave birth to their first baby girl this morning around 5 a.m. Can't wait to see her! She's going to be one cutie pie! Will post photos as soon as I get them.

A Day in Daly's Life

So...what's happening with me? Heh..heh...if you only knew. But I will tell you this much. I'm getting use to working full-time now. Yes...I'm a working girl--WAIT, WAIT! NOT the way you're thinking. I guess in the context of Las Vegas, one could easily assume my profession. Not so. I'm working in the Psychology Department of UNLV. Still a CSUN senator for my college, involved in AMA, participant in PLCP and just recently landed a spot on the LEAD Team!

Meanwhile, the semester rolls on as I'm in the last three weeks of the semester. BUT I'm hanging in there. Then--WHAMMIE! right into the summer session.

The weather's looking B-U-T-full!! I'm going outside to hit some balls. Tennis balls that is. Now, if I can only get my congestion from allergies to make like a bee and buzz off...I might play gracefully and not choke. Later!

The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman.

It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

The First Time

They say there's a first time for everything. Today is my first experience...blogging. Whoo-hoo!
